Green WO3 Portugal was founded on a simple premise: waste from the past is the resource of the future. Our mission is to explore mining tailings assets through tailings reprocessing, ensuring economic viability without the footprint of new mining. We prioritize safety, community engagement, and transparent governance in every phase of our operation.
How we do it

Transforming tailings into high-grade concentrate through innovative, low-impact technology.
Our process bypasses the need for new extraction. We utilize state-of-the-art liquefaction effects gravity separation and inverted chemical leaching technologies to recover tungsten from existing tailings storage facilities transforming it into APT (Ammonium Paratungstate) at our state of hte art polymettalic refinary located in Mértola, Alentejo .
Our differentials are better mass transfer, low solids to lixiviant (30-40%v.w.) ratio and reduce passivation layer formation.
This method significantly reduces energy consumption, water usage, and land disturbance compared to primary mining.

The European Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) sets the framework for securing sustainable access to critical resources. Green WO3 Portugal is positioned as a key strategic project under this framework. By producing tungsten domestically from secondary sources, we help the EU meet its benchmarks for extraction and processing, reducing dependency on single-source imports.
